Toyo Tyre & Rubber are an international manufacturer of rubber and tires founded and headquartered in Japan. There is no relation to Toyota Motors.

Timeline[edit]

In 1945 the Toyo was created through the merger of the Toyobo company and Hirano Rubber Manufacturing for the development of the rubber industry. [1]

In 1953 the Toyo Tyre company opened up a Tire manufacturing plant in Itami.

In 1955 they were listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

In 1961 they set up a research and development centre in Hyogo.

In 1966 Toyo Tire USA was formed for the sale of these Tires in the United States.

In 1974 Toyo Tire Australia was formed from the purchase of an Australian rubber company

In 1975 Toyo Tire Europe is created as a joint venture with Mitsubishi company.

In 1979 A joint business relationship with Nitto tires is formed.

In 1982 Toyo Tires Canada is founded

In 1996 Toyo Tires merged with Ryoto Tire Co.

In 2001 Toyo Tires established a manufacturing centre in Kentucky, USA to produce anti vibration rubber parts.

In 2003 Toyo Tire China was formed as a joint venture with the Mitsubishi company.

In 2004 Toyo Tire North America Manufacturing was formed for American based Tire manufacturing.

In 2005 Toyo Tire UK was formed and a separate Netherlands based sale group was also formed.

In 2006 They acquired an existing Italian Toyo Tire sales company to form Toyo Tire Italia.

In 2008 They established a sales arm Toyo Tire Russia

In 2010 A branch in China was created to begin passenger and light truck tires manufacturing

In 2010 A Malayasian tire manufacturer was acquired by Toyo Tires to begin production of tires in that country

In 2011 A Chinese tire manufacturer was acquired to increase the production in China

In 2013 Toyo Tires Thailand established
